Large Format Film Collection
Every image in this collection begins with a question:
Is this moment worth one sheet of 8x10 film?
Shot exclusively on Fujifilm Velvia 50 and Provia 100F, these photographs are the result of a slow, deliberate process—one that demands complete focus and total presence. Each exposure costs over $100 to create, from the film and development to drum scanning at the highest possible resolution. There's no automation, no forgiveness, and no do-overs. Just one chance to get it right.
Using the Chamonix Alpinist 8x10 view camera, I compose each image upside down and backwards on a ground glass screen, carefully adjusting for light, movement, and detail. I wait. I adjust. I commit. And then, with a single click of the shutter, the scene is preserved—forever etched onto a sheet of film larger than your hand.
These images capture more than just landscapes. They reflect the texture of time, the quiet tension in fleeting moments, the incredible color depth and tonal range that only large-format transparency film can deliver. From alpine ridgelines at dawn to still lakes just before nightfall, each photo is a record of place, patience, and presence.
This is nature in its most faithful form—captured without shortcuts, filters, or compromise.
Each print in this collection is available, meticulously scanned and printed on museum-grade paper to preserve every nuance of the original film.
